The 3P Idea Evaluation Matrix provides a simple, structured way to compare multiple concepts during Production Preparation Process (3P) activities and early design discussions.Instead of relying on gut feel or unstructured debate, this form helps teams apply consistent evaluation criteria to each idea, making tradeoffs visible and decisions easier to explain and defend. It supports clearer alignment between team members while keeping the focus on performance, risk, and long-term impact. With this matrix, teams can:

Establish shared evaluation factors

Score ideas in a consistent, repeatable way

Quickly see which concepts best meet project goals

Capture decision logic for later reference

This version is free for members, including those enrolled in the free Jumpstart membership, and is ideal for organizations beginning to formalize their 3P or design-selection process. It’s a practical starting point for teams that want more discipline in early decision-making—without adding unnecessary complexity.
